Duke Ellington School of the Arts

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts wanted to improve student and teacher comfort throughout three main areas of the school while minimizing the impact on its iconic historic building and allowing for future expansion.

Occupant Comfort

Daikin VRV water-cooled systems provided a comfortable learning environment.

Improved Efficiency

Daikin’s control systems scheduling feature shifted loads in the building to enhance efficiency.

Minimized Impact

Indoor ductless units minimized penetrations into the building’s historic structure.

After evaluating conventional HVAC solutions, we collaborated with the project’s mechanical contractor, Shapiro & Duncan and Global Engineering Solutions to develop a solution that proposed a Daikin water source VRV heat recovery system.
