Since 2008, GPS has worked to deliver the clean air benefits of ionization without the negative effects of ozone-producing technologies. Thanks to patented NPBI technology, GPS products help improve indoor air by reducing airborne particles, including certain odors, viruses and bacteria — producing neither ozone nor other harmful byproducts.
Particles like dust, dander, smoke, bacteria and even viruses can all be suspended in the air we breathe. GPS’ patented needlepoint bipolar ionization technology creates and releases ions into the airstream using the existing HVAC system as the delivery method. When these ions disperse throughout a space, they actively seek out and form bonds with particles in the air through a process called agglomeration. This initiates a snowball effect, causing the particles to cluster together. As the cluster of particles grows larger, it becomes easier for the HVAC system to filter them out of the air.
Third-party studies have demonstrated that the NPBI technology developed by GPS Air can effectively reduce certain viruses and bacteria present in the air.
The NPBI technology developed by GPS Air has obtained certification in accordance with UL 867 and UL 2998 as ozone-free.
The IDF-2 is a low-profile, quiet operation ceiling tile fan with NPBI™ technology directly integrated. The unit is designed to be fitted into commercial drop/suspended ceilings using a standard 24" x 24" tile footprint and utilizes a high efficiency brushless fan motor.
